A Prop Professor Alternative Built on Licensed Data
Prop Professor’s homepage describes arbitrage as “A risk free strategy which guarantees a small profit” (read 5 August 2026). Nothing on this site uses the words guarantee or risk free, and that difference is most of what this page is about. A competitor wrote it, it says so up front, and every claim about Prop Professor is sourced to their own pages with the date it was read.
Teacher’s Bet is a sports-betting analytics calculator that de-vigs posted prices, computes expected value, sizes stakes by the Kelly criterion, splits arbitrage stakes and prices prediction-market fees, printing the full derivation and a timestamp beside every number. It is not a sportsbook: it accepts no wagers, holds no funds and issues no picks.
How this page is maintained
Disclosure: Teacher’s Bet is a competing tool. It has no commercial relationship with Prop Professor or any other company named here and receives nothing if you subscribe to one of them. There are no affiliate links, no referral codes and no sponsored placements anywhere on this site; outbound links to other tools are citations and carry rel="nofollow".
Sourcing: every statement about Prop Professor below is a fact published on a Prop Professor page or its partner product’s public documentation, linked at the point it is used, and read on . Where their pages say nothing, this page says “not found” and means exactly that: we looked and could not find it, which is different from it not existing. Their pages are the authority, prices and features change without notice, and nothing here rates, ranks or characterises another tool’s accuracy: that is not checkable from outside a paywall, so it is not claimed.
Review cadence: re-verified against the source pages on the first of each month, and the date above is updated whether or not anything changed. If a fact here disagrees with the vendor’s page, the vendor’s page is right: send it over and it gets fixed.
What people are usually after when they search this
- The price. Prop Professor lists Fantasy at $35/month, Sportsbook at $35/month and All Access at $49/month on its homepage, and we could not find a free tier, a trial or an annual plan there on 5 August 2026. The break-even arithmetic in the next section is the whole decision, and anyone can do it in ten seconds.
- “Is it legit?” A judgment this page does not make. What it does instead is print what their pages say and what we could not find, dated, in the table below, so you can make it.
- The black box. A tool prints “+EV” and there is no way to see where the number came from. Their homepage attributes its output to “advanced mathematical algorithms”; we could not find a methodology page. Every number here has a “show the work” path, the pipeline is documented on methodology, and the underlying functions are on PyPI under an MIT licence.
- Limits. Winning accounts at retail sportsbooks get restricted, whatever tool found the price. That is a property of the book, not of the tool, and it is the reason this site’s fair-value work points at exchange order books, where the venue is not the counterparty. Covered in books vs. exchanges.
What a subscription has to earn back
A subscription is a fixed annual cost; profit from betting is a rate on money staked. Setting them equal gives the turnover a subscription costs, in dollars staked per year:
where is the total staked over a year, is the subscription price per month, and is return on turnover as a decimal.
Worked example: $49 a month at a 2% return
| Price per month | Per year | Handle at 1% | at 2% | at 3% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25 (founder rate here) | $300 | $30,000 | $15,000 | $10,000 |
| $35 (their Fantasy or Sportsbook) | $420 | $42,000 | $21,000 | $14,000 |
| $39 (standard here) | $468 | $46,800 | $23,400 | $15,600 |
| $49 (their All Access) | $588 | $58,800 | $29,400 | $19,600 |
The math tier here is $0 and sits outside this table entirely: every calculator and the whole course cost nothing whether or not anyone ever subscribes.
Side by side, from their pages and this site’s shipped features
Every fact in the left column is from a Prop Professor page or its partner product’s public documentation, read on . Every fact in the right column is shipped and checkable today, not planned.
| Dimension | Prop Professor, per their pages | Teacher’s Bet, shipped |
|---|---|---|
| Price and free tier | Fantasy $35/mo, Sportsbook $35/mo, All Access $49/mo on the homepage. Free tier or trial: not found. | Math free permanently; board free on a two-hour delay. Extra Credit $39/mo or $299/yr; first 100 subscribers $25/mo or $249 first year, 12 months, then standard. Pricing. |
| Where the data comes from | Their homepage, verbatim: “Our state of the art web-scraper extracts line and odds data for all public betting markets from more than 30 sportsbooks and fantasy apps.” | First-party licensed APIs, named: The Odds API for sportsbook lines, Kalshi’s official API for exchange prices. No scraping. |
| Refresh | “At an average of less than 2 seconds,” their claim, on the homepage. | Slower, and printed: sportsbook lines are scheduled snapshots, minute-class at best, and every price carries when it was pulled and when the venue last moved it. This site does not race; it dates. |
| Fair-value method | “Advanced mathematical algorithms” on the homepage. A methodology page: not found. | Methodology publishes the pipeline, the weighting formula and its constants, and names what is not yet running. The math library is on PyPI, MIT-licensed. |
| Derivations | Not found. | On every result: implied probabilities, the overround, the de-vig method, the fair price, and the arithmetic between them. |
| The company | “The Prop Professor, LLC” appears on the enterprise subpage; a state or street address: not found. Their terms and privacy PDF links returned errors to every fetch we tried on 5 August 2026. | Escapement Technologies LLC, Syracuse NY, in the footer of every page. Founder named, with a byline. Terms and privacy are plain HTML, one click from anywhere. |
| Education | YouTube tutorials exist; the blog link on their site returned a 404 on 5 August 2026. | A free ten-module course with quizzes and a rank ladder, a glossary, a formula sheet, and the casino-math Field Trip. Free permanently. |
| Bet tracking | Not found; third-party reviews list the absence of a bet tracker as a con. | The Report Card: closing-line-value grades on every logged bet, frozen at close, exportable, with realized results and a derived bankroll on subscribed accounts. |
| Hedge watch | Not found. | Paid alert on logged bets: when the other side prices into a lock against your price, the alert shows the matched stake and the locked return, with both timestamps. As of 5 August 2026 we have not found another tool that does this. |
| Automated betting | Their partner product Prop Sniper, per its public documentation, places bets in a user’s sportsbook account on its own (“Full Auto”) and charges 20% of the profit; the same documentation says it is not liable if a user’s book account is banned. | Never. This site never touches a betting account, places nothing, holds nothing, and prints calculations rather than instructions. |
| Responsible gambling | An age gate or helpline: not found on their pages on 5 August 2026. | 21+ age gate and the 1-800-GAMBLER and 1-800-522-4700 helplines on every entry path, and a responsible-gambling page. |
“Not found” means exactly that: we looked on the date given and could not find it. It is not a claim that the thing does not exist, and if their pages add any of it, the monthly re-verify updates this table.
What Prop Professor does that this does not
The honest half, and it is a long list. Each item is real, published by them or by reviewers, and conceded here without an asterisk.
- Speed. They claim an average refresh under 2 seconds. Sportsbook lines here are scheduled snapshots, minute-class at best, with the staleness printed. If your whole strategy is racing line moves at retail books, this is the wrong tool and that is not going to change.
- Coverage. 30+ sportsbooks and 11 DFS apps against a handful of licensed feeds here. Line shopping across forty books is not what this is.
- Markets. Player props, alternate lines, middles and live in-play against a two-outcome moneyline stack here. Structural, not temporary.
- DFS slip optimization. Pick’em slip tools for PrizePicks-style apps are a core feature there and do not exist here at all.
- Community and track record. Their Discord showed 2,639 members on 5 August 2026 and their domain dates to 2023. This site went live in July 2026, and its Discord is small. That asymmetry cuts against this page, which is why everything on it is written to be checked rather than believed.
The one question worth asking either way
Every “+EV” number any tool prints (theirs, this one’s, anyone’s) is a subtraction between the price you found and a fair line the tool chose to trust. Change that fair line by a point and a half and the same posted price flips from positive to negative.
It decides more than every feature list combined, and it has a page of its own: what to ask a +EV tool about its benchmark. This site’s answer is on the methodology page: the weighting formula, its constants, and which steps are not yet running.
Check this yourself
The claim that the math here is open is checkable in about thirty seconds, without an account:
pip install teachersbettextbook >>> from teachersbettextbook.devig import devig, prob_to_moneyline >>> devig(-180, 155, 'proportional') (0.6211096075778079, 0.37889039242219213) >>> prob_to_moneyline(0.6211096075778079) -163.92857142857144
Those are the same functions the calculator pages call. If the site ever prints something the package does not reproduce, one of them is wrong and it is worth knowing which.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free Prop Professor alternative?
Teacher’s Bet keeps every calculator and the whole Learn course free permanently, with no account, no email and no card, and the free odds board runs on a stated two-hour delay. It is not a trial. On Prop Professor’s pages we could not find a free tier or a trial on 5 August 2026. Teacher’s Bet is also a much smaller tool: no player props, no DFS apps, no live in-play.
Is Prop Professor legit?
Legit is a judgment, so this page prints checkable facts and no verdict. As of 5 August 2026: their homepage says their data comes from a web scraper across 30+ books; the entity name The Prop Professor, LLC appears on their enterprise subpage without a state or street address; their terms and privacy PDF links returned errors to every fetch we tried; their homepage describes arbitrage as a risk free strategy which guarantees a small profit; and we could not find responsible-gambling language or an age gate on their pages. Their pages are the authority and any of this can change.
What does Prop Professor do that Teacher’s Bet does not?
Per their pages and reviews read on 5 August 2026: refresh claimed at an average of under 2 seconds, 30+ sportsbooks and 11 DFS apps, player props and alternate lines and middles, live in-play tools, DFS slip optimization, a 2,600-plus member Discord, and years of operation. Teacher’s Bet covers a narrow two-outcome slate from a handful of licensed feeds, prints its staleness instead of racing, and went live in July 2026.
Does this page earn a commission?
No. There are no affiliate links, referral codes or sponsored placements anywhere on teachersbet.com. Outbound links to other tools are citations and carry rel="nofollow". Teacher’s Bet is itself a competing tool, which is disclosed at the top of this page.
What is hedge watch?
A paid Teacher’s Bet alert for bets you logged on your Report Card: if the other side of your bet moves far enough that the two prices sum under 100% implied, the alert shows the matched stake and the locked return, stated as a calculation with both timestamps. As of 5 August 2026 we have not found another tool that does this; hedge calculators exist everywhere, but they wait for you to notice the move yourself.
