Pricing

The math is free and always will be. Every tier runs the same arithmetic and prints the same numbers. What Extra Credit buys is when you get them, and how they reach you.

The free board runs two hours behind. Paid is current, and the alerts come to you instead of waiting to be looked up.

Full terms

Finish the free Learn course at the top rank, Teacher, and the first month of Extra Credit is on the house. It continues at $39/mo after that first month unless you cancel, and cancel is one click in the account menu.

On the board now: NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLB, college football and basketball, boxing and more, whatever is in season, pregame, plus player props on games as kickoff nears. Venues: FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, BetRivers, Fanatics and the Kalshi exchange, plus an offshore reference tail, marked as such. Every column is stamped with when its price was pulled and when the venue last moved it; the eligibility rules are on the methodology page.

The delay

What good is two hours?

Numbers rot at different speeds.

Which is why only one of them is behind the paywall.

A Kelly stake

Keeps for hours. Free.

An above-fair price

Keeps for minutes. This is the paid one.

A cross-book gap

Keeps for seconds, then flips to a locked loss. Free.

What paying does not buy

Elsewhere you pay to skip ads. Here you pay to skip time. The engine is MIT-licensed and on PyPI, so the math is checkable whether or not you ever pay.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a free trial?

Yes, and you earn it instead of starting it. Finish the ten modules in the free Learn course to reach the top rank, Teacher, which is about an hour of reading, and your first month of Extra Credit costs nothing. It is a real subscription with the first month discounted to zero, so Stripe asks for a card, the reward is one per account, and it continues at $39 a month unless you cancel. Cancel is one click in the account menu. The free tier is not a trial either, and every calculator and the whole course stay free whether or not you ever subscribe.

How much does Teacher’s Bet cost?

The calculators and the Learn course are free. Extra Credit is $39 a month or $299 a year. The first 100 subscribers pay $25 a month for 12 months, or $249 for the first year, then the standard price.

Is Teacher’s Bet free?

Yes, for the math. Every calculator and the whole Learn course are free, with no signup, no email and no card. The board is free too, two hours behind. It is not a trial.

What does the paid tier actually add?

Six things: the live board with no delay, the streamed Kalshi exchange feed, +EV alerts pushed to your device, hedge watch on the bets you logged, a Report Card saved to your account instead of one bet at a time, and the data API: the live board and its +EV and arbitrage cases as JSON. Not a different formula, and not picks.

How fast is the paid board?

Two different speeds, because there are two kinds of venue. Kalshi is a streamed exchange feed: a move in the order book reaches an open game in about half a second. Sportsbooks are pulled on a schedule that tightens as the game nears, every 5 minutes inside the last 3 hours, every 10 minutes earlier on game day, hourly further out, and every minute in the last 20 minutes when the month’s data budget allows. Every cell says when it was pulled and when the venue last moved it, so you are never guessing which of the two you are reading.

How do I cancel?

From the account menu, in one click, through the Stripe billing portal. Stripe may ask you to confirm your email to open it. No phone call, no retention offer. Cancelling stops the next charge and access runs to the end of the period you have paid for.

Is there a season pass?

Yes, while one is on sale. Through the end of October it is $99 once, and from November it steps down to $50 for the rest of the season. Either way it runs to the end of February, which covers the playoffs, and nothing renews, so there is nothing to cancel. The price steps down and then stops entirely because a fixed-end pass buys fewer months every week, and at some point the monthly plan is simply cheaper. The pricing page shows which one is on sale and what it works out at per month on the day you are reading it.

Is there a lifetime plan or a locked-in price?

No. The founder rate is a 12-month discount that ends after 12 months, at which point the standard $39 a month or $299 a year applies. There is no lifetime plan and there will not be one.
